Privacy
Policy.
This policy explains what information Dawg Drops collects, why we use it, who we share it with and the choices available to you.
1. Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to visitors, prospective dog owners, breeders and other people who interact with Dawg Drops through the website or related communications.
2. Information we collect
We may collect contact details such as your name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number and country; enquiry information, preferences and dog experience; breeder and breeding-programme information; dog or litter details; photographs and documents you choose to provide; technical information generated when you use the site; and records of communications and submissions.
Saved dogs are currently stored locally in your browser using local storage. They are not synced across devices unless a future account feature is introduced.
3. Why we use your information
We use personal information to operate Dawg Drops, review breeder applications, review and route buyer enquiries, create and maintain approved listings, communicate with users, prevent abuse or fraud, improve the service, keep records, and comply with legal obligations.
4. Legal bases
Depending on the activity, we rely on taking steps at your request, our legitimate interests in operating and improving a curated discovery service, consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.
5. Sharing information
When you enquire about a dog, we may share the relevant enquiry information with the breeder responsible for that listing. When a breeder submits a dog or litter, information approved for publication may appear publicly on Dawg Drops.
We also use service providers to host the website, process form submissions, manage website content and data, and provide technical infrastructure. At present this includes Netlify for hosting/form infrastructure and Wix for CMS/database infrastructure where used by the service. These providers process information on our behalf under their own security and privacy arrangements.
6. International transfers
Our users, breeders and service providers may be located in different countries. Where personal information is transferred internationally, we take reasonable steps to use appropriate legal safeguards where required by applicable data-protection law.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including managing an enquiry or breeder relationship, maintaining appropriate records, resolving disputes and complying with legal obligations. Test or rejected submissions may be deleted sooner where no longer required.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the information we hold. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so please avoid submitting unnecessary sensitive information through free-text fields.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the use of your personal information, request portability, or withdraw consent where consent is the legal basis. You may also have the right to complain to a relevant data-protection authority.
10. Cookies and local storage
Dawg Drops may use essential browser storage required for site functionality. The current Saved feature uses local storage on your device. If we introduce non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies, we will update this policy and provide any consent controls required by law.
11. Children
Dawg Drops is intended for adults who are able to make or participate in decisions about acquiring a dog. We do not knowingly invite children to submit personal information through buyer or breeder forms.
12. Updates and contact
We may update this policy as the service changes. The effective date above identifies the current version. Privacy requests can be made through the contact method published by Dawg Drops on the site or in our communications.
